Where did you hear about MailBeez?
We first heard about it from a freelance developer that we sometimes use from Canada. He blogged about it, and from that, we took it upon ourselves to do some research with a quick test installation.
Why did you choose MailBeez?
For some time we have been using Mailchimp.com to send our email newsletters. Having seen the benefit of a professional approach to email marketing, the next step for us was to begin to take our email strategy to the next level, and through Mailbeez we are able to do this.
How long have you been using MailBeez and what has been the outcome so far?
We have been using Mailbeez for around 2 months now, and already we have seen a considerable, quantifiable response.
A great example is the ‘Winback’ module, where we send emails to long inactive customers, motivating them with a voucher to return to the store. Because we use the voucher, each use of the code can be tracked, and thus the effectiveness of Mailbeez measured.
These customers would not have re ordered at this point if it wasn’t for the Mailbeez Winback module, so for us, this proved the effectiveness straight away.
What makes for you MailBeez different from Newsletter systems like MailChimp?
They are two different systems really. Mailchimp is untouchable for sending thousands of emails in one go, with all of the ease of use, social sharing and analytics this includes.
Mailbeez on the other hand is a more targeted approach, and one that should be deployed to meet specific requirements that Mailchimp cannot answer. In short, we value both equally, and could not be without either.
What are in your view the biggest strengths of MailBeez?
Ease of use for sure, and the ability to set up a cron job that works in the background.
Design the templates, test the mails, then set up the cron – now forget about it!
What campaigns are most successful for your business?
Winback, followed by No Purchase – the module where we email customers that created account but did not buy.
(the screenshot shows how the Trustpilot Integration Suite looks in action)
How do your customers perceive / react on the emails generated by MailBeez?
It’s a little difficult to get their personal view point, but from the take up we have had, again I am referring to the voucher code being used that is offered in both the Winback and No Purchase mails, it seems to be very well received.
What are you future plans with using MailBeez?
More modules!!!
Any recommendation for shop owners starting with MailBeez?
Yes, I would get a developer to install everything for you, and perhaps pay to get your email templates looking good.
Having an easy to use email system is one thing, but it will not be effective without an attractive and appealing email design.
Here’s a tip – use Mailchimp’s import code feature to paste in your email test code, then see the real time changes on the screen below as you adjust the template.
Before Mailbeez, we used to dream of sending out more targeted marketing based emails to our customer base. Now we actually have the Mailbeez system in operation, all of this is now a reality.
From reactivating old customers with tempting vouchers for their next purchase, to harvesting Trust Pilot business reviews, Mailbeez allows us to not only generate more revenue from our existing client base, but also to develop a relationship with our customers, beyond that of a normal store.
Already we can see that Mailbeez is significantly adding to our revenue, and as a small business frequently obsessed with gaining a percentage here and there, I would say it is an essential system for any online store.
